It's sad to have to ask that, when I haven't even gone anywhere. You all knew, though, that when Drew came in town, I would be nowhere to be found on calapitter. I enjoyed his visit immensely. We bought fireworks: keep it in the double-digits, Mom advised. And so we did. With 9 cents to spare, or something. We saw War of the Worlds with my dad and brother, in case it was too scary for my mom. Which it was. Man, it was awesome though. Drew left on Monday around 11 or so, but I was happy and satisfied with the visit.
I sort of just hung out with my family and played Scrabble the rest of Monday; I called Kristen because I saw on her xanga that she was in town, but she already had plans Monday night so we planned on a breakfast date EARLY Tuesday morning. We were going to make a 6 AM Denny's run, but we had to babysit her dog Zeus (who had gotten much bigger since I last saw him), so it turned into a 6:15 AM McDonalds drive-thru run.
And I tell you. Woo. I had SO MUCH TROUBLE staying awake at work on Tuesday. We had stayed up a little late on Monday night with the fireworks, and of course I didn't get much sleep on the weekend, thanks to sleeping on the couch downstairs and having a certain Rosco-dog come in and try to share/steal my sleeping quarters at 6:30 most mornings. That, and the early early morning, contributed to my spending my morning break in the break room taking a nap. After that, I was okay.
I have worked a lot this week. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, I worked 8:00 - 4:30 at Ameren; as for Bath and Body, Wednesday was from 7:30 - 10:15 and Thursday I worked 6:30 - 10:35. So you can believe that last night, when I went to bed at midnight, I slept until 11:20 this morning. When I woke up, I realized Crap, I have to get my butt out of bed and mail out these Amazon items!!. I've also been putting a bunch of things on Amazon to sell, and it's been doing pretty well so far. My net gain has been around $45 in the last 4 or 5 days. The Post Office people are starting to know my face: today, after my brother and I saw Dark Water, one of the USPS ladies said "Hey! You were in here yesterday, and the day before!" I guess they'll get used to it.
My mom and brother and I lit off the last of the fireworks last night. We saw Dancing Butterflies, Victory Celebration (which featured like 40 little parachutes that we had to pick out of the yard), and Flower World (which sounds more exciting that it was). We're saving Mighty Max for later this year, when Dad turns 50.
I'm kind of happy to say that I don't work at B&BW at all next week, except for Sunday (tomorrow), which is a floorset (since the big sale is over), and there will be no customers or apron-wearing or dressing up. Only cleaning and stocking and stuff. So that means that I can get back to my regularly-scheduled workouts. I've worked out TWICE in the last two weeks. It's dreadful.
My brother and Mom visited Wheaton in Chicago this week, and Ty LOVES it. He says that's where he's going. I only hope he can get in. They call it, like, the "Harvard for Christians" or something. The books say that only 56% of applications are admitted, but then only 1900 applied. Plus they're conservative, which my brother is into these days. *shrug* He has a year, still, in which to decide. It'll be interesting to see what happens.
