Well, we got back from vacation on Sunday, and it was a good vacation, but on Monday, I got the confirmation from Dan that Ameren would NOT be able to bring me on this summer. :( So here it is, summer half over, and I'm unemployed. Because it's so late into the season, no one is really hiring seasonal workers. Keep in mind that half the stores in the mall are hiring for PERMANENT workers, though, so if I weren't going back to school in August, I would have no problem finding a job.
Thus far, I've applied for 4 or 5 jobs around the StL area on Net Temps, and I sent my resume to the Manpower rep at Ameren to see if maybe she'd be able to place me in a different department somewhere.. but I haven't heard anything back. I'm going to call Kim (the Manpower rep) tomorrow to confirm that she received my resume and to check in with her. After that, if she has nothing for me, I'll go over to Sonic and apply. That's really something that I don't want to do, but if I have to work fast food for 6 weeks, I'd rather be at Sonic than McDonalds.
Anyway, I'll try to keep you guys posted, and if any of you local people have connections, hook me up.
