Changes for the Better.

First, a big THANK YOU goes to my dad for saving me from financial distress: he fixed the cellphone bill and that is a huuuuge weight off my shoulders.

Second, I am awesome -- I paid off my car loan 15 months early, yesterday morning. I avoided paying $150 of interest. I had considered leaving the money in the savings account to earn interest and just let the monthly payments go as planned, but the interest earned on the savings account would've totalled like $5, so obviously that wouldn't have been smart.

Academically speaking, I've made several changes over the past week and a half. I decided that a double major would be too ambitious, so I dropped the Spanish down to a minor. And because I've actually fulfilled all the requirements already for the minor, I dropped my Spanish class this semester, because 50-80 extra pages of reading a night, on top of my upper level Business classes, just wasn't going to work for me.

I visited Prof. Church (my prof for Intermediate Accounting) to talk to her about grad school/careers in accounting and she helped me look at the requirements for the grad schools on my list (U of Illinois - Urbana Champaign, U of Michigan - Ann Arbor, Rhodes, etc). We're kind of crafting my schedule next semester (which had been blank except for Senior Seminar) around UIUC's requirements for their Masters program. I added a Business Law class to my schedule this semester, and it should be a big yawn, but what are you gonna do? So I'm back up to 15 credit hours.

I don't think I've said anything on here about my job in the Econ/Business dept. It's pretty easy, and there's usually downtime for me to study (especially during my 4:00-5:00 shifts, especially on Fridays). It's not a bad gig. I do wish that I had applied for the RSAP position. Will Cooper got it, and he's earning about twice as much $$$ as me, so the profs are working him twice as hard, ha ha. Generally all I do as a work-study kid is check the paper supplies for the copy machine and printers, make sure there's coffee, and do any odd jobs the department asks me to (deliver something to somewhere else on campus, fetch something from somewhere else on campus, make copies, type something up, etc).

Overall, I'm not that excited to be back at school. I like working better than I like school/homework. I just need to realize that I'm going to school so that I can get a good job and enjoy what I do and make stacks of money. And that requires a bit of patience.
