This semester will probably be

This semester will probably be the hardest I've had, because of one class: Senior Seminar. I think it's supposed to be that way, having a class to knit together all the things one has learned in the other classes within the major, but this is to an extreme degree. I've already taken issue with the profs on one mess in the class: they asked us to form groups of 4 (which everyone assumed would be the groups for presenting cases), and we did. But after that, they informed us that the 4-person groups would be for the online business simulation game we'd be playing, and that we'd need to form groups of 3 for our cases groups. So basically every fourth person was kicked out of a group, or people split into pairs and picked up additional members, everyone went scrambling, etc. -- It was a nightmare! I finally got my group together yesterday, am hoping everything works out.

Last night Olivia and Laura and I went out to dinner at Bosco's. We ordered the calimari as an appetizer, and it was good, but there was too much breading and not enough meat. I ordered the lasagna but got too full so had to have it boxed up. I think I'll have that for lunch today. After that, we went back and Olivia and I looked at pictures of people on facebook and watched videos on youtube, until we got too sweaty and decided to take a walk outside. It was so hot in the dorms, you see, no air conditioning and it was 65 degrees outside and raining. Laura showed up just as we were about to leave. We tried to talk her into watching Aladdin with us, but Matt and Deb's offer of Sister Act interested her more or something, and Shranck (Olivia's friend) didn't answer when we knocked on his door, so it was just Olivia and I.

Aladdin was cheesier than I remembered, and the style really reminded me a lot of the Little Mermaid, especially how similar Aladdin and Prince Eric looked. Olivia and I talked about which Disney Barbies we had -- we both had Aladdin, she had Prince Eric and Princess Jasmine, and I had Ariel, among others. She said she hated how Aladdin's hat and Jasmine's earrings were part of the plastic mold, so you could never take them off, and use the dolls for anything but Aladdin or Jasmine (unless you pulled Jasmine's hair forward so you couldn't see her earrings). It kinda made me miss Barbies, but I guess that's why I like the Sims so much.

Speaking of the Sims, there's an expansion pack where you operate a small business. I'm going to start begging and pleading for this. Maybe as a reward for...

My nomination into Omicron Delta Epsilon, the economics honor society at Rhodes. This honor is awarded for students who have at least twelve hours of economics courses, a 3.5 GPA overall, and a 3.5 in econ courses—a tremendous feat. I was informed this morning via email about it, so I'm pleased.
