[5:21pm] These kids at lunch today, the jerks, came up to us and offered us a cookie. Actually, it was only Dodie, who is very pretty and small and a gymnast (I think) since she was 4. She had a piece of cookie in each hand. "You guys want some? I'm stuffed!" Of course, Roy the Mooch took one, and so did Duane, just because he was closest. Roy, the polite boy he is, says, "Thank you Doddiiieee," holding out the last syllable, and she returns with a "You're wellcoooome." I wondered what was going on when her voice slipped at the end.. up an octave.

Roy didn't care. He shoved the cookie in his mouth, getting the blue icing all over his face. He turned to Dodie (sitting at another table) and said, "Hey that was really good," or something like that. Then the laughing started. First Dodie and then her comrades and then other kids in their vicinity and finally kids further away. Roy smiles uneasily. Over the laughing I can hear someone say "Ex-lax.." and I finally understand. How horrible. Sometimes I love this school, but sometimes it is ruined for me.

Some senior prank.

[6:33am] The boat.

[6:27am] I'm writing less and less so that you'll get used to the idea that I'm going on a cruise with band. SPRING TRIP! I leave tomorrow, and tonight I have to finish my laundry and pack. I am SOOOO excited. I still owe my mom $31, but that's okay. I'll finish it when I get back.

I have a ton of homework to do.

Lemme see, I've got Biology done except for one Nutrition worksheet, and I have all the Spanish done, except that I have to make up the Spanish test (which is tomorrow), but I'm just going to do that seventh hour today. I'm going to miss a History test, but I will just hafta make that up later. In English, we're probably gonna start To Kill a Mockingbird soon, so I'll have to maybe make up some of that. Algebra, they'll just be outside shooting their slingshots all week and figuring out the equations and stuff. I'll just fill up on that when I get back.

[4:24pm] Joe and I are taking about him becoming my fiance, along with Andrew and Will and Robbie. This is what we had to say about it. Oh, by the way, Joe's recently-ex-girlfriend is Mormon.

Joey: We're all going to all have to move out to Utah...
Becky: And become Mormons, ahaha
Joey: Oh God.. Not even funny.

[8:44am] Dear old people who use the phrase What is the world coming to these days?: I will tell you what the world is coming to these days. Yesterday I was just sitting in my third hour class (History) taking notes on Militarism in Japan around the time of WWII, and the PA system comes on. Our principal, Dr Bob, comes on and says (with a few stutters) that all doors should be locked and that no one should leave their classroom. He doesn't say why but my History teacher knows. He tells us that they are running the drug dogs ("reefer dogs") through the school.

So we just finish up the notes and as it nears 10:10 we have nothing to do and get bored. The bell rings, but we're not allowed to leave. We stay in that room for another hour (thankfully letting me not go to Spanish) but there is nothing planned for us to do. We are left to our own devices. Kris and I have yarn to play with. That lets us entertain ourselves for the rest of the hour, along with the turquoise bowtie and cummerbund that I have in my backpack. I wear the tie and she wears the cummerbund (as a small tubetop, over her shirt.) Ah. Good times.

[9:34pm] My elbow's okay now. You know what? I saw Bridget Jones' Diary with my mom and it was hilarious. Very entertaining, although I do with that the f-word could have been used in less magnitude. Magnitude. I think that's the word I was looking for. Magnitude? Perhaps I don't know what the word I am looking for is. I wish it hadn't been used so.. often. Whatever the word for that is.

[6:11pm] I punched the couch and I think I hurt my elbow. I'm not a violent person, but the kids in my neighbor, when they come calling on my brother, they don't understand that you ring a door bell once. Then you wait a while, for the people to come to the door. Not once or twice a second. Anyway, my brother's not home, so leave me alone!! Not the mention that the little kid who always rings the doorbell, he looks in one of our door windows, standing very close to it, and breathes so that there is a little cloud of fog under his nose and that annoys me too. And that's why I punched the couch. Owee.

[5:31pm] I wrote a new poem today. I made up two lies to write it: a) I have been to the ocean many times, and b) I don't live in Kansas. Never have. Up until now it was Untitled, but I think its new name is now Two Lies.

Two Lies
It is not my fault that I have never been to the ocean.
Living in Kansas doesn't provide many opportunities
For such a thing.
Even though this is true
I feel as if I have already visited the sea
And have known its secrets
Oozing between my toes.

[5:22pm] I'm so bored. There's nothing to do, really. I don't think there is? I don't want to clean, but what would I clean anyway? Everything sparkles. Except down here in the family room. It's scary how stuff just lies around. The thing is, I don't wanna clean. So I won't. I really wish my friends would get online so that I could talk to them. Kris, Joe, Robbie.. get online. More specifically: Get on AIM. Now!

[6:03am] It's early. Yesterday I did $15 worth of work. Banisters, dusting up-stairs, vaccuuming upstairs, cleaning inside of the door, cleaning downstairs bathroom, vaccuuming stairs. And I'm spent.

[3:31pm] I just helped my dad name our big old huge server "El Gordo." That means, "the fat one." I'm wondering if we'll really name it that, or if he was just joking. Whichever. I gotta go clean. I'm thinking about adding to today's schedule of housework, cleaning the inside of the front door. I think that's like $2. I only owe my mom $54 as of right now! I did that in 22 days, averaging a decrease in the amount I owe her of $4.18 per day.

[6:00am] One week (seven 7 days) until I leave, second hour (but there is no need for me to go to my original classes) for Belleville Illinois, where I catch a flight going to Sanford, Florida.. and then. I don't know. Side note: My lip hurts. The fat lip, where my dog punched me in the mouth with his head.. It's bruised too.

[7:51pm] I wore my Harvard shirt today. I love this shirt.

[7:48pm] Which leaves me with my loose cleaning plan for the rest of the week: Wednesday: Pledge stairs, dust & vaccuum upstairs. Thursday: Clean parents' bathroom, opt. is sweeping porch. Friday: Umm.. I don't know yet. Maybe clean fridge again?

[7:42pm] Chores I've done today: Clean kitchen (sink, counters, oven range, and table) $3, mop kitchen floor ($4), clean front door windows $3?, clean sliding glass door $3, mop foyer $4. A total of $17 done today.

[8:19pm] Dinner on the ship is a seven course meal. A specific dress code is required. The waiter places your napkin on your lap for you. Multiple sets of silverware. Midnight buffet. Ohhhh yeah. You're jealous now. I can feel it. I can feel it in mah bones!

[4:52pm] So. How do you like it? It took me the upwards of two hours. It's kinda fun, kinda silly and springish. Anyway. Now I'm gonna go sew. After I sew a bit, I might come down and tell you everything that I know about the cruise.. Oooh. Then you'll be jealous!

[4:32pm] This is where I share tidbits of fun with you. There will be more here, as I add it. Right.
