If you're on a 14.4 modem, it'll probably take you a half hour to download these pics. So unless you have a fast connection, you probably shouldn't attempt it unless you really wanna see!

This is the VFW in Cairo (pronounced kā-rō, not kī-rō) Illinois. We're just flying past it.

This is just an old storehouse or something in Cairo Illinois. It's too bad we're going so fast, it looks all fuzzy.

It was raining on the way down to Florida and this car was going pretty fast, splashing water everywhere, so when we passed it, I snapped a picture.

Trees going really fast.

This is the storm that we were driving through. And some trees looking ominous. Add loud scary music and you have a shot from a horror movie!

This is a gas station in Florida. I tried to clear it up for you, but you probably can't read the sign in the window. The one with the big green arrow pointed to it? It says "Only 5 students at a time."

This is the Intracoastal Waterway being surly, under the effects of the same storm as before. I swear, we got hit by this same storm 5 or 6 times!

Our view from the condo. It's the bridge/walkway that takes you over the dunes to the beach. It's against the law to walk on the dunes because of the turtles that lay their eggs there.

Downtown St Augustine. I think this was some sort of hotel or something. I can't really tell. Menacing and spine-tingly, in a rather patriotic way, no?

A fruit stand or grocery store or something on A1A on the way back to our condo.

Another picture of our backyard condo view.

We bought this bucket at Wal-mart, played with this bucket on the beach, and left this bucket at the condo when we left. Wasteful? No. We don't have a beach in Missouri. (Think charitable.)

Dune shot.

This is along the Intracoastal Waterway where John and my dad fished. This is the light pole that didn't light in the dark. Notice the cute relaxing bird on top.

Still at the Intracoastal.

Still.

Yup. Still there. I really like this shot, though. I practically had to squat in the flowers.

Finally a new place. This is on the way to the Jacksonville airport. All these trucks are making a toast to us, the King of All Trucks. "Cheers, mate!"

This is when we were leaving the condo.

I started seeing signs like this at 161 miles until "South of the Border"-land (see next picture.) Some were very clever. Like one had a huge hot dog on it and it said, "At South of the Border, you're always a 'wiener'!" Winner, get it?

I was really looking forward to seeing what South of the Border was. It was this. A cheesy amusement park. >:p But it was kind of amusing to see a massive sombrero in the sky.

We went to Duke and this is the Chapel. My mom told me that when a student felt like they were in too deep and that they were going to fail a test or they needed to give up, they'd go up to the top and jump off. It happened once while my mom was in college.

After we visited Duke, we went to a park where my dad fished and my mom and brother hiked. I took a few pictures and began rereading The Fountainhead.

I believe this mountain is in KY(?). It's in the Appalachians, wherever that is. It's got a funky shape to it.

Sometimes when we driving, the roadside forestry would part long enough for you to see all the way around the world. Miles and miles!

A West Virgina tunnel.

A West Virgina sunset.

The West Virgina Capitol building. Tack-ayyy!

Just a roadsign thing.
