[11:49pm] Wow, kids. I just might make it to midnight this year. Or next year, shall I say. Last year, I slept through it. FYI: Dibs on
Kris tomorrow. I got Official Kris Dibs for Going to the Mall. None of this partying with Dustin nonsense. I gotta see her once in a
while, she is my best friend.

[7:56pm] Dear Joey: Happy Day Before Your Birthday To You!
[10:20am] For a girl that has done very little recently, I'm not doing very well on updating this website. I will tell you this though:
I had a winterguard 9-5 on Friday, and afterward I went out with Dustin and Kris. Entertaining, but odd; felt like a third wheel (and
not like a tricycle.) Saturday I saw Drumline and got an oil change. And a chiding from the oil change guy: "When was the last time you
got your oil changed?" I don't know. "Well, you oughta know this, young lady! Your tires had only 20 lbs of pressure in them!!!! We put
them back up to 35." He said all this like I should be grateful. Like I wasn't paying the guy. Like he was doing it out of his own
charity. Maybe he was. Oops. Oh well. Umm.. yesterday: church.. And today: Weapons practice 1:00-5:00. I may hang out with Dustin and
Kris after.. it all depends on stuff. Yeah. P.S. I have a new layout on the way. Muy bonito.

[9:55am] A very merry belated Christmas to all of you. I haven't written anything lately because I have been lazing about consistently
and not doing anything whatsoever, if I can avoid it. I'm trying to get inspired as to a new layout -- calapitter definitely needs some
sprucing up. I got three new CDs and copied one of my brother's onto my computer, so inspiration should come soon. P.S. This is so much
more important than a P.S., but I just.. whatever. The guard show rocks. It's going to be so hard for me, since I spin sabre 3/4 of my
show.. But yes. It will rock so hard. You should see my arm. Bruise-o-mania. It's crazy. Onward to the redesign.

[7:49am] After my little message yesterday, it might please you to know that I went to the middle school cafeteria at 1:00 and painted
the guard tarp. Until 8:00. Sigh. And here's what it looks like: The Square Beyond Compare. But shh. I didn't
tell you. Here's what I did tell you: I got paint ALL OVER MYSELF. I looked like a big brown monster. I had it in my hair, all over my
pants and back because I had to keep pulling the stupid pants up. I had it all over my face and right after I got it on my face, I turned
to Shawn and said "'ello?" All Britishy, and he fell down laughing. Because I had brown paint all over my face. I guess. Well, I guess I
better get a move-on. I have a 9-9 today. Happy Drill-Learning Day!

[12:13pm] Now you may bask in my smart, smart presence. Yes, smart smart. Because I got a 106% on my Calculus final. Maybe I should amend
that to "dang smart." I think I will. I am dang smart. Um, what else? I'm done with all my finals, I have only one college application to
turn in (Rhodes, which isn't due til the 15th of January) which is saying something because I think the guidance secretary hates me and
everyone else in the world. (Yes, especially you, Chriservannes.) Okay, well, I got an email from Dustin, the brain dead bison, and it's
making me laugh too hard, so I have to stop typing now.

[6:17am] I was right. A good night's sleep really does brighten things up.

[9:02pm] I know I'm not the only one who has felt like this. But it still is tough. You know, like.. Hmm. How can I describe this without
sounding desperate? Well, I'll just go for it. It feels like I'm buried. I have all these things--scholarships, applications, tests,
finals, homework assignments, grades to maintain. Insane in the membrane, insane in the brain, I say. Sigh. Not to mention this band
test thing I have to take. I'm utterly stressed. Not to mention that guard totally starts on Friday/Saturday. Wow. For a second there,
I thought I was doing okay. I just need some sleep. And a 100% on this band test. Sigh.

[9:20pm] Band concert was today. While the concert wasn't spectacular, post-concert activities were awesome. Kris and Dustin and I went
to Blockbuster and rented Lilo & Stitch. We sang along with Weird Al (Lasagna, Fat, Spuds), Dandy Warhols (Get Off), and Bif Naked (The
Pee Song, and Twitch.) The car was foggy with our laughter by the time we arrived at my house and Dustin wrote "Dustin is a sexy beast" on the window. They came over to my house and we watched Lilo & Stitch and
had a grand old time over pizza. "But Kristeeee I'm in my jammieeees!!" So cute.

[4:08pm] Things are good. Took the ACT this morning, flew right through the science but we'll see. Also: got my acceptance letter from
Mizzou and I got the Curator's Scholarship ($3500), and it's renewable with only a 3.25 GPA. So that's pretty good. I think this
afternoon will be spent working on a new delightful design.

[5:47pm] I'm beginning to wonder if it's time for a new layout. As beautiful and wonderful as this Joey layout is, I'm beginning to
wonder. And with this new layout, there shall be picture folders -- I swear, this time. Not like last time, where I never got around to
it. Maybe this layout won't come until next week (after finals and guard practices)... but anyway. Today one of my friends who hasn't
spoken to me in a while, said four words to me. And this made my day unbelievably better. If this person is you--you should know that.
And then we made cell cookies and I have a crapload of candy left over--which I'm going to eat at the movies tonight when I see Treasure
Planet with Kris and Dustin. I'm taking my camera, so maybe you'll get a "teaser" picture folder. "Teaser" because of all the ones to
come. And I have SUCH a good Cici's/Kmart/Wal-mart adventure to show you. You will love it.

[8:42pm] Let it be known throughout the kingdom that I am finally a teenager. I am finally branching out. I have finally given Jason the
phone numbah. YEAYAH!!!
[4:45pm] Ladies and gents: I am now proud to present the Three Coolest Things on the Planet Earth. A.) I finished all three tests today,
wahoo!! (How I did on these tests is another issue altogther -- inconclusive as of yet.) B.) I get to go to Cici's tonight with Kris,
another fundraiser. Whoo!!! C.) Perhaps the coolest of all, my lovenote. Yes, my lovenote. Sigh. I'm so loved.
[3:52pm] I seem to be getting a lot of hits from someone looking for the Scarlet Ibis. I don't know, I think I deleted it somewhere down
the line. But I found it again, so here. You tried hard enough, so enjoy.
121002
[9:25pm] WE'RE BACK!! Yes, the trip to D.C. was a hootin hollerin good time, but now I gotta face reality again. Sigh. Tests!! Yahhh!!
Anyway, I bet you all missed me desperately so I'm updating to tell you that I'm alive and as awesome as always.

[3:02pm] Whereas, TWO snow days make a week worse. Here's how: No teachers want to give tests after two days gone from snow days.
However, they ARE willing to give a test the Monday after the Friday after two snow days. (Sequence: two snow days, one wasted day
where all teachers say "TEST MONDAY", two weekend days, and test Monday.) This would all be fine, except that I won't be at school
on Monday, so I have three wonderful tests to make up. FABULOUS, I tell you. Just fabulous.
120402
[4:59pm] A wonderful beautiful snow day makes any week better.

[8:56pm] Tonight was the Christmas Parade, but it was really the pre-parade festivities that brought joy to me. A trip to Burger King
with Chris, Kris, Shawn, and my brother was awesome. "Have you guys ever thought about your name? I mean, like, MY name is SHAWN! It's
mine!" Hahahaha! And then onward to Tarjay, where we had misadventures in the seasonal department.. And then the busride to the parade
site.. And then the actual parade: "Hey Joey, someone on the bus told me that you were the hottest boy in band." "Were you sitting with
this person?" "Yes." "Is she to remain nameless? Or he.. I get a lot of that too." Umm. Right. But Joey is hot, nevertheless. *cheezy
smile* "Woah, you're band is really good. We saw you and we were like uhhhh." .... "You're hot." .... "Your band is good." *runs away*
AHAHHAHAA! What a lovely night. Too bad I hate parades and everything they stand for.

[8:16am] Do I have a story for you: Woo-wee! Happened almost 12 hours ago and I'm still excited. I'm even gonna do this thing with
indents and crap!!
So Kris and I went to the movies yesterday to see 8 Crazy Nights, which turned out to be
incredibly gross and SOOOO funny but also slightly sad. I walk in the movie theater and I see her in the ticket-getting area. So I
stealthily walk around and jump out behind her and scare the daylights out of her. It was awesome. But here's the real story: she was
standing with this boy who looked very familiar. He says something, a few seconds after I ambush Kristen, something like "Wow, she's
really something isn't she?" And Kristen says "Do you remember her?" And he says no, which is fine with me because I don't remember
him either. And she says "Becky, this is Dustin from G*stock." We look at each other for a minute and recognition is instantaneous:
"Ohhh!! It's you!" Awesome.
Being the dork I am (and having JUST learned some new guard work and NEEDING to share it),
I begin to teach the dance to Kris. It's the beginning of our show, so I show
her. And everyone laughs because I'm dancing (not well) in front of the ticket-getting place. Then Dustin's two friends come
up. Se llaman Evan and Kurt. (Kurt is really hot. Just a side note.) We eventually move inside to the food-getting place, and Dustin
and his friends offer to save us seats while we get our food. We agree to meet them in the theater.
Going in, we momentarily think "Uh oh, we don't know where they are", and worriedly look up
into the audience, but a moment later we hear "Yo yo! Up here, girly-os!" That was Evan. We get situated and watch the movie. We sing
along with the Wehrenberg song and many people join in the whispering "Wehrenberg, where's yo bird." (Local thing.) We watch the movie,
listen to the Hanukkah song. We migrate out of the theater and stand by the food area because Matt works there and Kris likes to talk
to him. We all stood around and talked.. and Evan looks at me. I am like "What?" He says "You look very familiar. I know you from
somewhere." And I say "Probably not." He asks me "Did you used to play indoor soccer for the YMCA?" I think back to 4th grade. And it
clicks. It's Evan the goalie, and Kurt the forward. Wow. I played soccer with these people EIGHT YEARS AGO. They're both freshman at
Missouri Baptist now, and it's so cool. What are the chances? Oh it was so crazy. Just thinking about it. Dang.
And the rest is falling action. The two soccer boys had to leave, but Dustin stayed and talked
to us for a while. He's a very easygoing guy, but he rocks so much. I told him that I'm a ninja, and he told me that he's taking Kung Fu
101 in college, and he's for real. In fact, later, I tried to surprise him with a Judo chop and a kick (yeah.. I don't really know
anything), he totally annihilated me and picked me up off the ground and then I got a foot cramp. They laughed. Anyway, sometime earlier
during the evening Dustin determined that I was "spontaneous, and normal a minute later" (that probably had something to do with the
dancing) and Evan decided that Kristen was "weird", which hurt her feelings, so we changed it to "spunky." And everything was
WONDERFUL.
